After 35 years with the company, Unilever CMO Keith Weed will retire later this year. Unilever has seen a shakeup in its leadership, since the departure of their former CEO Paul Polman at the end of 2018. Alan Jope will follow in Polman’s footsteps as Unilever’s new CEO. During Weed’s time at the company, his marketing leadership and advocacy for accountability from digital-media players helped Unilever take a stand against divisive advertising. The company launched the #UnstereotypeAlliance at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity in 2016. Weed will retire in the first quarter of 2019.
